Can I extend the tourist visa in UAE?

Yes. Travelers can now extend their visas without departing UAE. However, you must apply for “inside country visa change” at least 10 days before visa expiry.

Are there any penalty charges if I overstay?

Yes, expired tourist visa holders will be charged 350 AED on the first day and 100 AED from the second day onwards.
